Resize/upgrade

Resize/upgrade a VM

Resizing (upgrading) a OneCloud VM means changing its allocated resources (such as CPU, RAM, and/or storage), depending on what your plan supports.

Important

Some resize operations may require a reboot or temporary downtime. Plan changes during a maintenance window if the VM is in production.

Before you resize

  • Confirm the VM is in a healthy state.
  • Ensure you have recent backups.
  • Check application requirements (CPU/RAM/storage).
  • Review any plan/region limitations that may affect resizing.

How to resize a VM

  1. Log in to the OneProvider Client Area.
  2. Open OneCloud and select your project.
  3. Open the VM/instance details page.
  4. Click Resize, Upgrade, or Change plan (label may vary).
  5. Select the new size/resources.
  6. Confirm the change.

If a reboot is required, the interface will typically indicate it.

Notes and limitations

  • Resizing options depend on region capacity and your account limits/quotas.
  • Some upgrades may be immediate, while others may require the VM to be stopped.
  • If the desired size is not available, it may be due to capacity or plan restrictions.

Note

If you need a specific size that is not listed, contact Sales/Support with the VM region and requested resources.

After resizing

  • Verify the OS sees the new resources (CPU/RAM).
  • If storage was changed, you may need to extend partitions/filesystems inside the OS.

Tip

After increasing disk size, the operating system may require manual partition/filesystem expansion before the extra space becomes usable.
