Supported OS images
When you create a OneCloud instance (VM), you must choose an OS image. An image is a prebuilt template used to install the operating system on your VM.
The list of available images can vary by region/location and may change over time.
Where to find the available images
During OneCloud instance creation, you will be prompted to select an image. The images shown there are the ones currently available for your selected region.
If an image is not listed, it is not currently available in that region.
Types of images you may see
Depending on region and platform availability, OneCloud may offer:
- Linux distributions (common server distributions)
- Windows Server images (in supported regions/plans)
- Minimal/base images (lightweight templates for custom setups)
Image names and versions may be updated periodically.
Choosing the right image
Consider the following when selecting an image:
- Software requirements: pick an OS compatible with your application stack
- Access method:
- Linux: typically SSH access
- Windows: typically RDP access
- Support lifecycle: prefer supported OS versions that still receive security updates
- Automation: choose images that work with your provisioning tools (cloud-init or similar, if applicable)
Notes about availability and deployment
- Region-specific: some images are only available in certain locations.
- Capacity-based changes: image availability may change as the platform is updated.
- Reinstalling: if you reinstall or redeploy, you may need to select from the images currently available at that time.
Note
If you require a specific OS version and it is not listed for your region, contact Sales/Support with your preferred region and OS/version request to confirm whether it can be made available.
