OneCloud concepts
OneCloud is OneProvider’s cloud platform for deploying and managing virtual machines (cloud instances). This page explains the core concepts you will see when using OneCloud.
Project
A project is a logical container used to organize cloud resources. Depending on your setup, a project can contain one or more of the following:
- Cloud instances (VMs)
- Networks (if applicable)
- Storage resources (if applicable)
- SSH keys (if applicable)
Projects help separate environments (for example: production vs staging) and keep resources organized.
Instance (VM)
An instance (also called a VM) is a virtual server created in a selected region.
Instances are defined by:
- CPU / RAM
- Storage
- Operating system/image
- Region/location
Instances can be created and deleted as needed. If you need to change region, the typical method is to deploy a new instance in the new location and migrate data.
Image (Operating System)
An image is the template used to deploy an instance (for example, a Linux distribution or another supported OS).
When you create an instance, you choose an image, and OneCloud installs it onto the VM.
Region / Location
A region/location is the datacenter area where your OneCloud instance is deployed. Availability is capacity-based, so the list of regions can change over time.
IP address
Instances are assigned network connectivity and IP addressing based on the selected region and available options. IP availability can vary by location.
Access (credentials / SSH keys)
How you access an instance depends on OS and your configuration:
- Linux instances are typically accessed using SSH (often with SSH keys)
- Windows instances are typically accessed using RDP (credentials provided after deployment)
Billing basics (high level)
OneCloud resources are billed according to the plan and billing terms shown at checkout. Your Client Area will show active services and invoices.
Note
Features and resource types shown in OneCloud can vary by region and account. If you do not see a specific option in your panel, it may not be available for your region or plan.
